Hello! I just took part in an exhibition, which was my first one and I didn't know what to expect.
It would be a small open comic exhibition about music. We had around a month to prepare didn't know if it would actually happen until the last minute and pretty much organised it all ourselves - meaning the ones who made the comics- so it didn't fit our ambitions but it was an opportunity after all and well... we made it in time. (Not to mention it takes place during finals)
So the first who came in the room was a boy and a lady, whom I literally heard saying 'What is this b******t, I don't like it!' and just got out.
Needless to say I was disappointed, I mean, we are not pros or anything but it wasn't THAT bad. Then more people starting to show up, some of them liked them - especially those with children- and some I could tell, not much. I just wanted to talk and ask if you have been in a similar situation. What would you do in my place - would you take part in an exhibition knowing you don't have enough time to make it good enough to satisfy you, or leave if for when something better comes up? What do you do about people that hate what they see in the first glance?
Here are some samples of the pieces I put in display. (Entrance was free in case you were wondering)
